Terms of use and disclaimer

Free, general travel information. Check important facts with the official source before you rely on them.

Last checked

By using Japan Pocket Guide you agree to these terms. They are short because the site is simple: it is an information site, and it is free.

1. Information only

The content on this site is general travel information. It is not legal, medical, financial, immigration or safety advice, and it is not an official source. Entry rules, visa requirements, prices, fares, opening hours, timetables and laws change. Always confirm anything important with the official source, which we link wherever we can.

2. No guarantee

We work carefully and show the date each page was last checked, but we cannot promise that every fact is complete, current or error-free. You use the information at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Japan Pocket Guide and its operator are not liable for any loss or inconvenience arising from use of this site.

Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or terms.

This site shows advertisements served by Google. It may also contain affiliate links, which are described on the Affiliate disclosure page. Neither advertising nor affiliate relationships influence what we write.

5. Copyright and use of content

Text, tables and tools on this site are © Japan Pocket Guide unless stated otherwise. You may quote short passages with a link to the page. You may print pages and tool results for your own trip. You may not republish whole pages or scrape the site for a competing product without permission. Photographs are credited to their authors and are used under the licences shown on the Photo credits page; the licence terms of each photo apply to any reuse.

6. Trademarks

Names of companies, products, railways, shops and attractions belong to their owners. They are used only to identify them.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows the latest revision.
